Program Details

Provides current trainees an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in life science technology landscaping and due diligence of new life science technologies.

01 APPLICATION

  • What regions is this program going to run in?

    The fellowship is run regionally with local university tech transfer offices or entrepreneurship centers and lasts 6 months.

  • Who can apply?

    1) University or University-affiliated PhD students or postdoctoral fellows; 2) PhD students must have completed qualifying exams; 3) Applicants must be willing to commit up to 5 hours per week for the duration of the Fellowship

  • What do I need for the application?

    1) Applicants need to submit their resume and a cover letter highlighting their interest in the Fellowship and background before the application deadline; 2) Selected candidates will be invited for an interview with the Nucleate Fellowship team; 3) Accepted Fellows must have consent from their Principal Investigator to participate in the program

  • What to expect?

    The fellowship is run regionally with local university tech transfer offices or entrepreneurship centers and lasts 6 months. During the first three months, fellows generate a landscaping report of technologies from specific university departments in order to identify key patterns in early-stage company formation. In the second half of the fellowship, fellows identify promising new technologies at the university and help translate the work into new ventures. Through the fellowship, fellows will support both their local ecosystem and Nucleate’s mission of promoting the translation of research discoveries into products that reach the public. During the 6 month fellowship, fellows will be assigned to generate landscaping reports covering innovation within a defined “Target Area” and a subsection of the technology development at their university. The Fellows will further be expected to source technologies from specific University departments and institutes to identify promising early-stage research. Fellows will advance Nucleate’s mission of enabling the translation of research discoveries into products that reach the public in collaboration with and sponsored by local University.
